In addition to the SFAHL rules, the D League must follow the following additional rules designed to maiintain the developmental integrity of the league.

1. No outside subs, only paying D League players from other teams
2. Subs can only be used if you will drop below 10 skaters up to a max of 10 skaters
3. Captains can agree on more than 10 skaters on a per game basis (don't send anyone home when they showed up to play at a captains request)
4. Paid D League goalies are to be given 1st shot to play as sub goalie; if none available, goalies from approved goalie sub list can be called 
5. Goalies can not skate out
6. Captains are to try to spread sub opportunities to all players, not the same player(s) all the time.
7. No subs allowed during the playoffs/championship
8. Any violations of these rules will require review by the captains committee
